The Assets panel is located in the lower-left corner of the Amazon Sumerian editor. Its importance is often overlooked, but understanding how to use it properly can help improve your workflow and efficiency in Sumerian.
In this tutorial, we will not build a unique scene. Instead, we describe various asset types and how to manage them in the Assets panel. Although we don’t create a scene, we do start by adding a few assets as examples to work with.
You’ll learn about:
- The Assets panel
- Asset types
- Importing assets

Step 1: Create a Scene
In this step, we create a scene and add a few assets. This provides us with a framework for learning about asset types and how to manage them in the Assets panel.
From the Dashboard, choose Create new scene.
In the editor, above the canvas, choose Import Assets. This opens the asset library.
Search for and then add the Kyro Toaster.
