In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to publish a Sumerian scene to the web.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, you should have completed the following tasks and tutorials:

Step 1: Publishing a Scene

  1. When you’re ready to publish a scene, locate the Publish drop-down menu in the top right of the interface.

  2. Once Publish is chosen, choose between public or private publishing. Create public link will publish and host the scene via Sumerian in a single click. The link can then be copied and shared to anyone to view. Host privately allows you to publish the scene via AWS Amplify. This path requires additional development to deploy the scene into a website, but allows for further customization of the loading, splash screen, and other portions of the experience. For more on publishing your scene via AWS Amplify, visit the AWS Amplify Quickstart guide.

    • The scene can only published via one path at a time.
  3. If the scene is published using the Create public link option, a link to the scene will be generated and can be copied and shared to anyone.

If the scene is published via the Host privately option, a JSON configuration for AWS Amplify is generated for your scene to embed it into your website.

  4. Copy and paste the URL into your web browser to see your published scene.

  5. Share the link with your users.

Step 2: Updating a Published Scene

If you make updates to a published scene, simply publish your scene again like you did in Step 1 using the Republish button. This republishes any and all updates to your scene. The scene can also be unpublished altogether using the Unpublish button. If Unpublish button is selected, a confirmation will appear to unpublish the scene prior to removing it and breaking any shared links (shown below).

Now that you understand more about lights and cameras, you should learn more about light placement and the relationship between lights and materials. Check out these tutorials:
